Structural Head Drawing IV: Rendering Fundamentals

In this video, we'll explore how we can use rendering to communicate our structural knowledge with greater clarity and impact.

We'll start with how to control pressure and how to use our tools to grain, hatch and stump.

From there we'll discuss the basics of light and shadow, and how changes in form relate to changes in value. We'll also talk about how to render simple forms and how to use them to understand complex ones.

Finally, we'll work through a finished drawing of a skull, combining our new rendering strategies with the constructive approach we learned in the previous videos.
